An extensive volleyball programme is currently offered to Glasgow City primary schools promoting the game of mini volleyball. Mini Volleyball is played just like volleyball only the rules have been adapted to make it easier for teachers to introduce and allow beginners to learn the game quickly in a fun way.

Each school throughout the city is given the opportunity to participate in a series of curricular and/or extra curricular coaching sessions culminating in a Mini Volleyball Festival where the is emphasis is on basis skill development and fun.

The development of after schools Volleyball within secondary schools primarily relies on the work of dedicated teachers and School Sports Co-coordinators. All secondary schools in Glasgow are given the opportunity to take part in both curricular and extra curricular festivals, mini leagues and National Youth Events.

Glasgow City Council provides support and assistance for all schools in the form of promotional and coaching visits, in-service training and resource material for teachers.
